Black-out Labels

I recently came across this neat product. I am not sure how long it has been around, but I just found it so I thought it might be of some interest if you are a greenhouse nursery, florist or shipping/packaging person (probably a wide range of other professions that I haven’t thought of). The product is just a normal label at first glance. It comes in different sizes and whatnot, but it appears to be just a white label that you stick on plant tags or shipping boxes. Whoop-dee-doo right?
Well the neat part about this label is:

  • It has an opaque back-side.
  • It uses extra strong adhesive.

What’s Great About An Opaque Back-side?
The best part about this label is the opaque back-side. This allows you to cover up old labels. The opaque underneath of the label completely blacks out whatever it covers. Now you can be more efficient as you do not need to remove old labels anymore; just cover them up! And don’t worry guys; the front-side is still completely white. You actually cannot even tell that the back-side is opaque!

Aren’t Labels Already Strong Enough?
If you just needed labels to stick they would be plenty strong enough. But now you are covering up other labels, labels that you do not want people to be able to see. So with the extra strong adhesive you do not need to worry about people peeling them off and reading your old labels.
For Example, you own a greenhouse nursery and prices just went up on the fertilizer you use to grow your beautiful flowers. You still need to make your 25% profit margin so now your product prices have to go up. It is going to take a lot of man hours to print new price labels and to replace the old ones.

Thankfully you have black-out labels. You were able to cut your workload in half by not having to remove the old labels. Furthermore, you do not have to worry about the customer seeing the old, cheaper price, through the old label and you do not have to worry about them trying to peel off the label to see the old one, they just won’t be able to.

You Don’t Have To Be A Genius…
You don’t have to be a genius to tell that black-out labels are a really smart way to go. They cut down work and completely hide that important information that you do not want anyone else seeing. They are fairly inexpensive as you can get over 30,000 labels for around $175 (depending on the size), and did I mention that they are typically weather resistant?
